After completing her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Manipal University in 2022, she knew her journey in dentistry was far from over.
“I was drawn to the United States for several reasons,” Dr. Amrita explains.
“The work-life balance, professional respect, and the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the latest innovations were all major factors in my decision.” She adds.

Following her graduation, Dr. Amrita didn’t immediately jump into international studies.
Instead, she gained valuable experience working as a dentist in her home city, splitting her time between a dental clinic and participating in dental screening camps with another local dentist.

“The journey of switching countries and embarking on this three-year course was not an easy one,” Dr. Amrita reflects.
“It’s a very long process with multiple steps in between. Staying motivated throughout can be challenging, and I’ve found that only your family and friends can truly get you through this.” She adds.

Despite the demanding nature of her studies, Dr. Amrita maintains a rich life outside of dentistry. “I love doing artistic things like making DIYs and painting,” she shares.
“Cooking also calms me down. These activities help me maintain a sense of balance and connection to myself amidst the rigors of dental school.”
