Where do i even start! I think i might have been the most anxious client Anahita had to deal with. I came across Odigio in July 2023 on Instagram. The way Anahita talked and with the reels and posts that she had put up Odigio, I felt very connected the moment I saw the page. I wanted to switch to nonclinical, but I was skeptical for a long time. When I came across Odigio’s profile, I got a little courage to get into it. I booked a call with her, and I was amazed. She explained everything to me perfectly, and I was pumped to get started. But the best thing was about to happen next. It was the Odigio’s career compass program. The minute I saw it, I knew I needed to crack it, and voila, I did. After that, Dr. Anahita has been my constant support and mentor in this journey. I have been practicing as a physiotherapist over one and half year in India but something felt a miss. I started following Odigio on Insta and then arrived at their Insta post about the Career Compass program. It honestly felt like a steal, and filling out the form was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I got selected, and the resume and cover letter preparations started. She gave me such useful and amazing pointers for my resume that I believe are always going to come in handy throughout my career.
There is one thing about Anahita ma’am- she’s like your friend, someone who holds your hand like an elder sister. I realized this when I started networking and getting interview calls and had all kinds of the stupidest doubts. Whenever I left a question for her, she answered it in the most detailed way along with some genuinely useful information and tons of motivation. She’s full of knowledge, knows what she’s doing, and is sweet and so humorous!

Until the internship, everything seemed fine, but then I had no idea about the career path after my UG, so I started researching abroad opportunities but couldn’t figure out my path. It was almost 6 months after my graduation when everyone started asking about my next career goals; some people even suggested I marry someone who was already settled abroad. There was a lot of pressure, and I was exhausted mentally. I decided to join clinics for some time, but soon realised that the pay wasnāt fair to me and did not continue with it. Despite my parents’ constant encouragement and support, I had no notion what career path I needed to take. At the same time, Anahitha ma’am and I spoke, and she described how every dental graduate is facing a similar situation and is choosing their career route regardless of their circumstances and level of commitment. Thatās when I got clarity about my career and decided to pursue an MPH. Most of my friends chose health informatics and suggested the same, but for the first time in my life, I was able to tell why I chose MPH. A big thanks to Anahitha Ma’am for being such an amazing person and for assisting me in finding some direction in my professional life. Despite my father’s advice who told me, that consultancies are bad, I went to consultancy agency as soon as I made the decision to pursue a career in public health. While they have far more experience than I do, and I have sent many people, I had the impression that they would aid me in the process. Guess what? I was wrong, like my father told me. They discouraged me at every step and told me I wouldnāt get into good universities because my percentage isnāt good, and they made me apply to the shit universities where they had connections, and they filled out the wrong information in SOPHAS. My father became furious when he saw this and made the decision to begin a new application to reputable universities. During that time, Anahitha Maam assisted me with SOP. She received the first SOP I had written and helped me comprehend its significance for the essay’s flow and how to write up to the reader’s expectations. It took us a month to completely draft a beautiful essay, and she used to edit the content after reading it from beginning to end. Being a scientist, my father never really gives something his approval until he finds it amazing and perfect. He said, “Acha hai beta!” Very good! after reading my final draft.This was really a small part of my application, but I was very happy; it wouldnāt have been possible without Anahitha Maam. She also provided me with the phone numbers of my seniors who were accepted to MPH programmes. They emphasised the value of volunteering, so I started building up my resume by joining Make a Difference (MAD), which helped me socialise and made some great connections as well.
